Coventry - About

Coventry is the second largest city in the West Midlands and is centrally located with access to major transport links, making travelling and commuting around the Midlands and beyond extremely easy. Coventry is close to the M6, M69, M45 and M40 motorways, with Coventry railway station being served by the West Coast Main Line that provides regular, express services between London and Birmingham and access to all major rail links across the UK.

With its rich history in automotive manufacturing, a major visitor attraction in Coventry city centre is the Coventry Transport Museum, which has the largest collection of British-made road vehicles in the world and is free to enter for the public.

St. Michael’s Cathedral is Coventry's best-known landmark and visitor attraction. The 14th-century church was largely destroyed by German bombing during World War II, leaving only the outer walls and spire intact, and is a must for anyone with an interest in history.

Another attraction is the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum, one of the largest main cultural institutions in Coventry which boasts a records archive, learning centre and creative arts facility in addition to the museum and gallery.

The Ricoh Arena, located a few miles north of the city centre, is the home of Coventry City F.C. and also a multi-purpose venue that frequently holds major rock concerts for some of the world's biggest acts. In addition, just a short train ride away is the UK’s largest exhibition facility, the NEC, which hosts events such as Good Food Show, Clothes Show Live and Grand Designs, as well as world-renowned music acts.
