Hinckley - About

Hinckley is a market town located in southern Leicestershire which is close to the beautiful and historic town of Market Bosworth and the larger town of Nuneaton.

There’s a lot to see and do in Hinckley, and market day is a particularly important one – first recorded 700 years ago in the year 1311, Hinckley market is one of the best in the country and it is no coincidence that the busiest days in Hinckley are its market days. There are three markets held each week on Monday, Friday and Saturday in Hinckley town centre as well as a farmers' market on the third Thursday of every month. Such has been its success that in 2010 it was awarded National Outdoor Market of the year.

Away from the hustle and bustle of the market, there is the Hinckley and District Museum, which contains lots of information about the town’s heritage. Also within the town is the Concordia Theatre which hosts a variety of different performances from musicals, bands, organ concerts and comedy.

Other places to visit on the doorstep of Hinckley include Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre, which celebrates the battle in which King Richard III lost his life and Twycross Zoo, one of UK's leading wildlife attractions.

Travelling to and from Hinckley is easy, as it is situated just off the A5 which leads to the M69 and then on to Leicester or Coventry. Hinckley is also well connected by train and has regular services between Birmingham and Leicester.
