Suntrap Shades That Are Good Enough To Eat

Colourful summer ice cream cone

Can’t get enough of the summer? With temperatures hitting the 30s in June and July, it’s no wonder sales of ice cream have reportedly risen by over 100% this summer already. And it’s not just the flavours that are in favour.

According to Jelson’s interior designer, gelato shades – as the Italians call ice cream – are hot in home décor this summer. Colours that remind us of our favourite ice cream can make us feel happy and bring to mind warmth and sunshine, even when the weather cools down.

So how best to use ice cream colours in your home?

If you love mint choc chip, you could try adding a minty fresh tone to your bathroom.

Enjoy salted caramel? Then use that rich, warm mocha shade in your lounge.

And if your children can’t get enough of bubble-gum ice cream, perhaps incorporate accents of that dazzling blue into their bedroom. Introducing these pretty, vibrant colours onto a single wall – or several if you feel brave – is sure to give your home a new lease of life.

Even if you’re accessorising with pastel-hued vases, cushions, dining chairs and even tableware, a little effort can go a long way. It’s a great way to bring colour into your home, especially if you’re wary of the deep, bold feature wall colours of recent years.

So next time you’re on the beach or at the ice cream parlour, think about the colour as well as the flavour – and bring a little sunshine into your home.
